running 2 accounts at once?
I recently found the pass of my original GW account in a old school note book so now I have two accounts. I would like to run both at once and I know that there is a program that allows that. I have three questions about it: 1. Where can I find it on the net. 2. How safe is it 3. Is it legal

I use GWx2 which can be found:
www.gwx2.co.nr I've never had any problems with it, security or otherwise so I would say it's perfectly safe. As to it being legal, well yes there are no laws against it :P And it's not against the EULA either as it doesn't affect actual gameplay. Hope this helps. |

You can start your second account when you like whe running GWx2
if you have account 1 and want to open account 2, you can just run GWx2 and the second account will load without affecting the already open first |

could anyone explain how to use GwML?
do I need another .dat file? do I need to actually have the 2nd account's DISK? if I need another dat file, and don't have the disk, can I just download the client off of guildwars.com? Last edited by Helix Dreadlock; Jul 12, 2009 at 03:50 PM // 15:50.. |

I get the message:
Gwx2 v4.0 "File not found" when I try to put it on a secondary path. Any way to fix this? (I don't know how to post screenshots out-of-game, sorry. EDIT:Ok, I got both there, but it ends up bringing up 2 windows, and the second window says it's unable to access the archive file:Gw.dat, please verify this program is read-able and write-able and no other program is currently using it. I'm also using Windows Vista 32-bit. Last edited by Helix Dreadlock; Jul 12, 2009 at 04:15 PM // 16:15.. |

I do it the oldschool way, copy GW.exe into another folder, find and replace all instances of guildwars with something else with the same lettering. Make .reg files...ah good stuff

Hardly "easier to do" when GWML does it for you.
This forum no longer advocates use of gwx2 due to its links with bot programs. GWML, on the other hand, is a great, open-source application that first appeared here on Guru. The author, Imkey, is active here and there is a thread in Community Works where he answers any support issues you may have. See here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com.6a.nl/f...php?t=10373154

Heh, just wait until the next Guild Wars update, Helix - then you'll see how much a pain in the rear gwx2 can be
(For the record, I used gwx2 for ages, then MGWML then GWML - I can honestly say that imkey's apllication is by far the best of the three.)

from my experiences with both the programs gwx2 and guildwars mulitloader i found gwx2 superiour. simply cuz there was a period of time after a gw update that the multiloader didnt work. then i went to gwx2 and theirs did. and continued to work. have had no trouble what so ever with gwx2.
so GO GWX2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

That's odd - I found the exact opposite to be true. Every major GW update necessitated re-copying of gw.exe from the main directory to the secondary.
In any case, one of the major plus points for GWML is its ability to create a shortcut for all your gw.exes - so you can "join in" with another account at any time.

Okay let me see if I understand this correctly
1. load my GW.exe main dict to the first path 2. Copy Gw.exe main to a different folder and load into the second path 3. Start Gw as normal 4. Parameters will fill themselves in on connect done? |

I copy gw.dat and gw.exe over from \games\guildwars to \games\guildwarz after each update. I run GWx2 once to get both the \guildwars and the \guildwarz copies to open at the same time, and remember my first and second account names in each. I close them both then copy the \guildwarz\gw.exe shortcut to my desktop. When I want to play GW I open my first account using the original gw.exe desktop shortcut. I can open my second account at any time using the new shortcut, no need to run GWx2 again, makes no difference if my first account is open or not.
I only have two accounts and am happy with the way GWx2 works so I've never looked into the multilauncher to compare it. Last edited by Smarty; Jul 12, 2009 at 11:48 PM // 23:48.. |

I can't use GWML, so I'm trying the youtube tutorial atm.
If anyone can give full instructions for GWML or Gwx2 that'd be great |
